SPEECH AND LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT: The website Speech Pathology Australia has many useful "fact sheets" about early speech and language development. There is also lots of other information about Speech Therapy.

Caroline Bowen, Speech-Language Pathologist, has an excellent website containing information on many aspects of early speech and language development.

Teach me to talk has some excellent podcasts for parents - learn how to help your child at home with their speech therapy practice.

Consider joining your local library or toy library. That way you have lots of "new" speech therapy tools to offer your child for little or no cost.


STUTTERING: If you have any concerns about your child who is stuttering, it is a good idea to seek the professional opinion of a Speech Pathologist. Stuttering could include repeating sounds, words or phrases and getting stuck or "blocking" on sounds and words. The Lidcombe Program is an internationally recognised program for helping stuttering in preschool children and is offered at Quakers Hill Speech Pathology.


VOICE: Voice disorders such as a hoarse or raspy voice, problems losing voice and difficulties with loudness are best referred to your doctor or an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist). The doctor will often recommend speech therapy to improve voice quality.
